Brandon Markosek (D-Monroeville) has announced his candidacy for the 25th State House of Representatives seat in eastern Allegheny County.
Markosek served as a Community Outreach Representative for State Senator Jim Brewster. Markosek is also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Friends of Monroeville Library, and is active in the Monroeville Chamber of Commerce. He is also an active member of St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church in Monroeville.
Brandon has held positions at the State Capital in Harrisburg, as well as other positions involving government in the private and non-profit health care sectors.
Mr. Markosek has five main goals once elected. These include providing sufficient funding for senior citizen-based programs, confronting the opioid epidemic, ensuring greater public safety, securing increased funding for all levels of education, and bolstering the area’s economy to create jobs. Brandon will carry on the Markosek legacy of responsive and efficient constituent services in his district office.
Mr. Markosek is a graduate of Duquesne University where he obtained Bachelor’s degrees in both Political Science and History. He also holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. He has also taken courses through Stanford University’s online program.
The 25th Legislative District includes Monroeville, Pitcairn, North Versailles, Wilmerding, East McKeesport, East Pittsburgh, Wall, and parts of Plum and Trafford.
